I like everyone love to have great looking nails. But achieving this is not always easy. It takes work, commitment, determination and few helpful tips to have fantastic looking nails that will be the envy of all your friends. Having healthy nails is not difficult and by following these tips you will soon see your nails improve and look amazing.
I love working within the industry, meeting a variety of students who always ask me what my top tips are on having great looking nails, well here they are:
5 Tips For Great Looking Nails
- File your nails in one direction – this will ensure you do not break the nail layers and make the nail weak. A common mistake made by many is filing nails in both directions. Simply use you file in long, slow, sweeping strokes working in one direction at all times using a soft grip file of 240.
- Push back your cuticles – at least once a week with a plastic hoof. This will help expose more natural nail plate allowing for an even polish application.
- Apply cuticle oil – as often as possible. If you can once or twice daily is fantastic as this will helps condition and nourish the cuticle area which in turn improves the growth of the nail.
- Buff your nails – this will help stimulate the blood flow and circulation to the nail and therefore improving nail growth alongside reducing ridges within the nail plate, reducing staining and can be used to bring the nails to a natural shine.
- Use hand cream – apply before leaving the house in the morning and going to bed at night as this will rehydrate and condition the skin and nails leaving your hand feeling smooth and soft.
